Aln Class is part of the EYFS/Key Stage 1 department.
Pupils in this class are reception to year 2. Pupils have a range of special educational needs including severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum and profound and multiple learning difficulties.
The curriculum combines elements from all of our 3 pathways as well as Early Years and the class is supported by two Enhanced Teaching Assistants and two Teaching Assistants.
The class teacher teaches most of the curriculum. Specialist teaching is delivered PE (including swimming) and music.

Aln Class Activities
Making/tasting and eating angel delight. Children help to mix the angel delight with the milk and helped to serve it into bowls and were encouraged to smell and taste it on completion
Purposeful mark making outside during a literacy lesson focusing on writing the letter ‘s’.
Funky finger/sensory exploring – Children explored cooked pasta in the tuff tray. Children had the chance to touch, smell and taste if they wished.
