In Brancepeth Class at Durham Trinity School we have been raising funds and awareness for the 2 charities: Kicks Count and Bliss.
The 2 charities are very close to our Teachers heart and to many of the parents of students in our school.
Not many people know about the charities and so we decided to try and raise awareness by advertising the charities and putting posters up in the staff room as well as giving leaflets out too.
Alongside this we have been making things to sell and involving it as part of our lessons so we were being educated too.
We raffled 2 pluffie (baby safe) dogs off where people guessed the names of the pink and blue dog and they were named “Molly” and “ Bailey”. We also made hotdogs and star biscuits to sell around school and we even held a staff bake off in our staff room. The staff did a fabulous job and made some tasty treats around the theme of Christmas!
We decorated the staff room with banners, balloons and leaflets so people could have the opportunity to read about two great causes and to understand the importance of the charities and to help us raise awareness.
In total we have raised £137.50 to share between the two charities and we are still looking at doing more fund raising in the future.
Also the staff here at Durham Trinity School, especially our class teacher, loves eating biscuits so we have been saving the sweet savoury wrappers to send away to raise extra funds for the charity and we have also been collecting stamps which we are going to continue to do as lots of people will receive cards and post of the festive season!
We are very proud of the work we have done this term and are going to continue to raise funds and awareness for Kicks Count and Bliss!
