THE NAUTICAL ADVENTURES OF WILLIAM THE BEAR.
By Lieutenany Mark Taylor and Michelle Emerson.
This story began in November 2011 with the Freedom Parade of HMS Bulwark’s ships company through the streets of Durham City. In the days leading up to the parade the pupils and staff of Durham Trinity School and Sports College had resolved to present ‘William’ their bear to the ship, in recognition of ten years affiliation between the Ship, her Crew and the School. The Ship’s crew were asked to keep the school informed of William the Bear’s adventures by use of a report in the form of a blog.
William’s story has now been turned into a book suitable for children aged 7-10 years. Copies of the book will are now available at a cost of £5.00 each (£1 p+p).
If you would like to purchase a copy please e-mail your order to firstname.lastname@example.org. The book is also available from Waterstones, Saddler Street, Durham and at Amazon.
The proceeds from the sale of the book will be shared between Durham Trinity School & Sports College and St Cuthbert’s Hospice.
