Sport plays a huge part in day to day life at Durham Trinity School & Sports College and there are a lot of activities and events that incorporate sport from charity fundraising activities to sports days and intra school competitions.

Durham University Healthy Active Minds Project 2017
Students from our further education unit have accessed workshops in therapeutic dance and movement and athletic activities. This work focuses on students developing a healthy active mind.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Paralympic Challenge 2016
Hylton class have participated in the Sainsbury’s Active Kids Paralympic Challenge on the run up to this years Paralympic Games in Rio. The aim of the project was to develop pupils skills whilst competing in inclusive activities such as Sitting Volleyball, Boccia, Goal Ball, and Visually Impaired Athletics. The class used the resources provided to plan and lead their own mini activities and then evaluated the success and tried modifying them to make them simpler or more difficult depending on how the group found the activities.
Hylton class really enjoyed the activities and developed both in their practical and leadership skills.
