Sport and physical activity plays a huge part in day to day life at Durham Trinity School & Sports College and we promote Active30 (pupils active for at least 30 minutes every day) and there are a lot of activities and events that incorporate sport from charity fundraising activities to sports days and intra school competitions.
Warkworth Class Durham University Visit
Warkworth Class went to Durham University to take part in sport in the morning and Arts and crafts in the afternoon. Pupils really enjoyed their day and thanks go to Durham University, Grey in the Community for arranging this in conjunction with school.
Santa Fun Run 2019
School thoroughly enjoyed our Santa Fun Run, thankfully it stayed dry and pupils enjoyed running whilst raising money for St Cuthberts Hospice and a piece of fitness equipment for school.
We are hoping to raise over £1000. Pupils wore their Christmas jumpers to support St Cuthberts Hospice and we sold Christmas toys.

Tinarts Dance Company Visit FEU to Promote Opportunities in their Dance Academy
Students from Neville and Langley class accessed a dance workshop to promote opportunities for our students to access a community education provider and promote healthy active lifestyles.
Active 30 30
Active 30 30 encourages 30 minutes active play and activity during a pupils day, including extra curricular activities. The other 30 minutes are to be completed out of school. Here are some examples of why we have already achieved our Active 30 30 award at Durham Trinity School and Sports College.
Lumley Class – November 2018
Lumley class attended Grey in the Community. Pupils enjoyed taking part in sport in the morning and arts and crafts in the afternoon.

Durham University Healthy Active Minds Project 2017
Students from our further education unit have accessed workshops in therapeutic dance and movement and athletic activities. This work focuses on students developing a healthy active mind.
